Stirling Community Media SCIO are looking for volunteers like you

Use your time, skills and enthusiasm to help them make good things happen.

A world where media provides a way to build stronger communities through giving a voice to all sectors of society via the promotion of the arts.” Geoff Leask

We’re trying to make things better for:

  • Young people disengaged from education where media offers an opportunity to develop skills.
  • Adults sharing their experience through volunteering

We do this by:

  • Delivery of a 24/7 community radio station
  • Media Matters – programme t0 develop skills within young people through multi-media.
  • Community events and volunteering opportunities

Volunteering opportunity

Volunteering opportunities are wide and varied both in terms of time required and roles to be undertaken.

From opportunities to present a radio show, though to fundraising, event arrangement and administrative database management the opportunities can be for an hour a week through to 10 hours per week.

All that is required is a keen sense of willingness to get involved and have a passion for the community of Stirling and surrounding area.

Tasks we need help with

  • Admin
  • Marketing and social media
  • Fundraising
  • Being on the organisation committee (for example trustee, secretary)
  • Helping to run the group or activity

Equipment or resources we need

  • TVs, projectors and audio
  • Phones, tablets and laptops

“I have been involved as a Trustee with Stirling Community Media for three years and also been involved in presenting on the charity community radio channel – CastleSound. I have become involved as I can see the huge value the community radio channel brings to others in the area and have seen at first hand the development of young people through our Media Matters Programmes. It makes me proud to be involved with a radio station that puts people and community at the heart of what we do.” Geoff Leask
